Armchair Transformations: Chapter 2

A couple of months back, we wrote an email and blog featuring some of our favourite armchair transformations. We had so many revamps that we adored that we couldn't fit them all into one post. So, today we're back with the second instalment of our selection of our favourite recent armchair reupholstery projects. Prepare to be amazed all over again!

Trio Transformation

Check out this herringbone bedroom sofa and matching headboard combination that we worked on in 2021. This trio of beauties was restyled for my client's bedroom. We recovered the sofa and dressing table stool and then finished off the look by making a headboard in herringbone wool to match the set. The new headboard was finished with pleat edging and contrasting buttons for a real stylish look.

Matching Set

I think this matching set really demonstrates how we can work with a multitude of fabrics to all be cohesive. We reupholstered this arm chair, giving it a new lease of life. The look was polished off with a matching footstool and scatter cushion. We used a stunning mix of velvet prints, for example Linwood on the armchair.

Peacock Print

This was a tired auction find complete with ragged fringing that turned into an absolute statement beauty with the addition of this peacock, butterflies, birds and flowers fabric. Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over it became a butterfly! And it's the same story for this super cute sofa and armchair.

Moth-Eaten to Glorious Rival

Check out this amazing transformation of a rat, moth-eaten armchair left to die in a barn - now a vibrant new leather armchair. This classic wing-wrap armchair was a family heirloom that needed some TLC. Tony our upholsterer extraordinaire undertook this incredible reupholstery project. Just look how amazing this end product is!

Italian Green Leather Wonder

When only the finest will do! This project featured the revival of a classic armchair into a modern yet timeless masterpiece. We used the warming tones of Verde from our Italian aniline leather collection. There's a whole host of colours and grains to choose from in the collection. This one was the perfect choice for the character of the chair as it gives it a soft, waxy feel. A transparent wax coating is applied to the leather to allow the character of the hide to show through over time.

Antique Chair

For this transformation, we used a stunning maximalist floral velvet fabric with an antique chair to create something really special. It just pops against the wall colour, doesn't it? She's a beauty!

Striking Transformation

My client trusted the decision as we poured over the many fabric options for her chair makeover. Together we selected the fabulous Kami fabric by Linwood. This stunning printed velvet is tough - it can also withstand dogs, kids, spills and hide a multitude of sins! The chair was saved from the landfill in style. What a striking transformation!

3 Piece Suite

With this 3 piece suite, I headed to my clients home armed with a selection of our fabric books. We took time discussing their needs and picking out the right colour for the new wool covering. We even coordinated with scatter cushions. From sad to stunning, we're so please how the suite turned out!
